The only reason this abomination still exists is that someone, somewhere, is making a lot of money off of it.
The only reason the politicians won’t touch the issue, no matter how big a majority of the people clamour for it, is that some of that money is going to them.
We have electric lights, the farmers don’t go by the clock and never did, pick one and get rid of the other !!
Some States, Provinces and most countries don’t bother with it and haven’t for a long time.
Wouldn’t surprise me, honestly. I’ve seen the meme going around pointing out that if we have to shift our clocks backwards and forwards to tricking ourselves into thinking we have more daylight hours while we’re not working, the work day is the problem, not the seasons.
The animals (and the kids when they were little) are pleasantly surprised when they get fed ‘early’, they still want fed again at the ‘regular’ time, but they do like the early feeding.
In the fall ? not so much, the pestering is persistent and they just wake you up an hour ‘early’ so you don’t get the extra sleep you were promised.
