#1430 Cookies

Sometimes the names on the boxes are different, but the colors are always the same. I need The Green Ones, The Red Ones, and The Purple Ones.

  1. Back when our neighbors daughter was in Girl Guides(Canadian Girl Scouts) they would have cases with 12 boxes a case. We’d buy two cases of the peppermint every winter and freeze them for the year. I haven’t seen them selling cookies in years and I miss them.

    1. Absolutely tragic! I was never in Scouts, but a lot of my friends were growing up, so our family would buy from them. Now I have to either luck into them or use the website/app to figure out where they’re going to be set up! This year a bunch of the troops had set up with the booths at a local craft fair, which I thought was super clever.

  2. I haven’t seen Girl Guide cookies in years, come to think of it I haven’t seen any Girl Guides either, or Brownies for that matter. I don’t think you’re even allowed to say ‘Girl’ Guides anymore due to some court case or another so maybe they just died out ?
Once upon a time you could get the cookies in the stores here as well as from the girls selling them, they cost a little more but were available all year around and the Guides still got a cut. My favourite were always the vanilla ones, I don’t remember seeing the mint ones up here, just vanilla, chocolate and both in the same box.

    1. Weird! They’ve never sold the cookies in stores here, and definitely never year round. The closest I’ve seen was when the organization partnered with an ice cream company and they made flavors featuring the most popular cookies. But this was a limited run thing and I’ve only seen it the one time.

  3. We used to go door to door but the crafty ones would stand in front of one of the taverns and wait. Guilt cookies sold like hotcakes 🙂
