  1. I have been planning to catalogue all my books, as follows:
    1. Sort books on shelves into order
    2. Add to catalogue.
I have been engaged on 1. for ooh, about ten years now. After about 2 minutes sorting, I see a book I’d forgotten about and just start reading…

    1. I’m kind of type-A when it comes to my books, they’re all alphabetized by authors last name (or by title/series when it comes to my graphic novels), and broken down into different categories (Ficton, Art Reference, Folklore, Nonfiction, Young Adult, Picture Books).

  2. sooooooooo… what’s the app’s name?

    1. I ended up going with Libib, but I’m a little antsy because it only allows 5,000 entries for free.

MyLibrary for Android is pretty solid, but it only really allows for one library shelf and technically there aren’t tags (but you can make notes and use them similarly).

I thought about LibraryThing which has a smaller cap for free usage, but a one time fee of $25 allows you unlimited entries, plus tagging and as many shelves as you want. But the review for the previous apps are better.

And I’m STILL not sure I went with the right choice XD I’m pretty sure I don’t have more than 5000 books but WHAT IF I DO IN THE FUTURE?!

      1. Open a second Libib membership and transfer the fiction section into it (or nonfiction, whichever is the smaller) .. and 5,000 is a LOT of books!

  3. I have downloaded a library app now, thanks to you lol

    1. ha HA!

Which one did you go with?

      1. It’s just called “My Library”

        1. I almost went with that one (assuming you mean the one for Android), but I wanted something with a little more flexibility. I DO appreciate the fact that the developer seems actively committed to making improvements (and it had the best ratings out of all the ones I looked at.).

  4. At first when I read “Library App,” I thought you meant an app from a library, (like Libby or Hoopla,) but this is good too. 😀
