Dear gods yea. My son and I got the Irish/Scottish/English pale people gene BIG time. My daughter has the Italian coloring, with also the Cherokee genes popping thru if the gets enough sun to tan…it turns into a red-brown color that is NOT burn. At the same time, all three of us are slapping on sunblock because we all have Serious Money devoted to our tattoos , lol!
Yeh, I just get burned and then fade right back to paleness. I’ve only had a tan once in my life (when I was on swim team as a kid and outside LITERALLY every day.).
Oh gosh right?? I burn so easily now because i am super pale.. That’d be the UK side but I am also Native American, so the burn turns into a nice tan eventually it just hurts too much first. So I avoid the sun.
So glad I inherited my melanin levels from my Italian ancestry and not the English, Irish, Scottish, German, and French portions (yes, I am that much of a northern European mutt).
