  1. Ugh… About the only “holiday” music I can stand are the winter themed albums by Nox Arcana. Almost entirely instrumental, and not connected to any particular holiday.

    Well… that and a recent lesbian-themed cover of “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus,” but well… I’m a lesbian and that appeals to me (the video is also extremely adorable, as it features the artist with her wife and their kid).

    1. I just looked up the video, and it is precious (also, just a great cover of the song, too).

      My holiday music leans secular, but I grew up in choir with traditional religious carols, so those have a special place in my heart, though I totally get that they aren’t everyone’s thing.

  2. I got the music together for our road trip. Not a single holiday music among the cds lol!

  3. I like the Twisted Sister Christmas album. My girlfriend hates it.

    1. I enjoy a mix of both offbeat stuff and traditional. And I am a sucker for acapella music…pretty much year round.

      1. Oh, so if you like acapella, have you heard this one by Straight No Chaser? (12 Day of Christmas) http://bit.ly/2l7IYBE

        1. Yeeeessssss! I have a few of their Christmas albums! This is one of my favorites (this one and Christmas Can Can)

  4. I would loathe that car ride

    1. It’s only three hours! And I relented after we were about halfway there ^_^;

  5. December 1st to December 31st is when I am allowed to play my Christmas music, then they make me turn it off. If I had it my way my car would have nonstop Christmas joy all year round

    1. I like to listen to it between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It loses some of its “specialness” for me if I listened to it year round.

  6. My favorite holiday music is the classic winter suite, “Nanook of the North/St. Alfonzo’s Pancake Breakfast” (Zappa). My niece still remembers the first time I played it for her.

    I’m fond of the standard tune “Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire,” too. 🙂

  7. Straight No Chaser? yes?
