  1. I find a simple solution to those who are difficult in my life to shop for is to give them Legos. Sadly, in your case, with your known Legomania, one to at least rival that of the legendary Zack, that might not be as solid an option. In which case, gods help you.

    1. Lego is nearly always a solid option, though I have the unfortunate habit of buying those for myself when I run across them.

I usually do books, even for the difficult to shop for (my years working in a bookstore have honed my recommendation skills), but even there, Raf is impossible.

  2. You have that issue too? Try getting your family to remind him too and make sure he buys NOTHING! for himself

    1. Oh yeah, there is a rule that he’s basically not allowed to buy anything for himself from Thanksgiving through Christmas.

  3. I know someone like that

  4. But I am trying to cut down on stuff, do not need any more stuff! And the couple things I am looking at are too expensive to ask anyone for.

    1. EVEN SO.

There are food options, or things you could use…even if they’re boring things, that’s better than NOTHING!

  5. I’m the one everyone has trouble buying for, and I freely admit it. The problem, for me, is actually psychological, I feel INTENSE guilt about ANYBODY buying me something, or offering to buy something for me. Birthdays and Christmas get so bad for me, I actually end up in tears when people ask me what I want. I have ideas, sure, but even writing them down makes me feel like I’m doing something horribly wrong. Even just giving me money, or gift cards don’t work, I use them on my kids and husband 80% of the time. I’m just hoping that, as my kids get older, I get used to it more, so I can actually answer the billion pound question: What do I want as a present. (Ugh just writing that has giving me a stomach twisting feeling of guilt and stress)

    1. @ladyjssem This makes my heart ache… There’s everything right about looking into it with a therapist. You can tell yourself you’re going for the sake of those you love, if you don’t feel worthy of going just for you.
