No, no, no … just get a cheap see-through plastic pot and a piece of card:
1. place pot over insect 2. slide card under pot and invert 3. admire insect 4. toss contents of pot into the shrubbery outside.
No murder is needed. Spider etc left alive to eat more of those flies you don’t like either
