#1062 The End

On the Couch gets top billing today, as this is the final strip in the series.

It's been a fun 10 years creating and sharing stories about this wacky cast of characters. Wendy going to "imagination boot camp" and realizing her own power was an old idea that I had, but knew it would have meant the end of the strip, if I ever told that story. When I initially decided to end the strip, I had trouble figuring out what I would do to give it a proper send off and finally, I circled back to the idea and realized that that was the ending I wanted.

So, one last madcap adventure followed by harkening back to one of the earliest comics but with a different twist became a fitting end. These characters are still a big part of my life and I know most of them will still grace the pages of my personal sketchbook for years to come as they offer me unsolicited advice and provide a bit of whimsy, and I hope they brought you all a little bit of laughter along the way.

As always, thanks for reading!

  1. Perfect. ^_^ Thank you so much for sharing this weird, sweet fun story with us!

    1. You are quite welcome and thank you for reading all these years!

  2. Well, I’ll miss OtC – the whole concept of ‘characters of my imagination turned live’ was interesting and amusing (though I don’t hope it ever happens to me – some of my characters are even more unruly than this gang, and my flat is a lot smaller than Wendy’s). But all good things must have an end.
So now what – will you start some new project or concentrate on Life on a Stick (or have you even decided on that yet)?

    1. For now, I’m going to enjoy only managing one comic! I have some ideas percolating for future projects, but that’s for some far-distant future. I’m glad you enjoyed On the Couch!

  3. *whew* Fabulous ending! Thank you Wendy!!!!

    1. Haha, yeah, I wouldn’t leave it all lonely like that! You’re quite welcome and thanks for reading all these years!

  4. Thank you SO much, that was one heck of a ride!

I predict though that you will miss them, in due course 😉

    1. I will definitely miss drawing this comic (it already feels weird not posting them every week)!

  5. Glad this ended on the high note. I came late to both comics through thedevilspanties.com, and really enjoyed them.
Will we still get to see the Halloween group “photo?” Love those even though I never guess them all…

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed reading this one (and Life On a Stick will continue to update!)! I’ve toyed around with maybe coming back to do the Halloween group photo, but it really all depends on whether or not I come up with enough good costumes for everyone.
