Got a better one: Dropped a 6 foot sheet of plywood edgewise on my toes. Waited for the pain, inability to walk. Nothing. Went back to working. HOURS later, I take off my shoes and pad through the house. Notice that one of my socks feels sticky. I look down, expecting to find spilled soda or cat-hork on my foot. Instead, the front half of my sock is BRIGHT RED. That board smashed my toenail; I had been bleeding for hours. Silver lining to the onset of diabetes: reduced sensation in extremities. It really didn’t hurt at all.

Ooooooh YEAH. Diabetics gotta be real careful of their feet (it runs rampant on one side of my family!).
