I’m with the girls. Used to have a roomie that loved to cook, she would make all kinds of weird junk. I’d try it, it would taste so bland. She said the flavors were ‘delicate”. I said, needs ketchup. She eventually stopped cooking for me.
I kind of agree, but I’d point out it doesn’t *have* to be like that. That’s a hell of a lot of effort to put in for an open-face fried egg sandwich, with or without Bearnaise. Pancake-battered chicken-fried bacon is good on that primal, Cro-Magnon level, but I put it to you that with the same amount of effort Pojo could’ve put something fancy together that would genuinely been just as good, if not better. But probably still not health food…we got like 10 million years of evolution pushing us to crave fat & oil, and that’s hard to beat.
Guys, guys, it’s just an eggs benny with veg instead of ham. It’s not even that pretentious. Lemon bearnaise is just hollandaise sauce. It’s pretty standard breakfast food. Pojo is just proud, if a little stuffy.
