  1. Goes to store, gets a bag of Coffee Crisp. Someone points out that half the neighbours are boycotting Nestle.

  2. I think from now on every time I enter a room I’m going to announce, “Here I am, with different candy.” XD

Also, it took well over a decade but I have developed a taste for black licorice. But just because I’ve trained myself to stare into the abyss without blinking doesn’t mean it’s not filled with horrors.

    1. blinking is fine, it keeps the eyes from drying out; what you don’t want to do is blink too often, that’s a sign of fear

    2. I wonder if it’s, like, a genetic thing? My Dad loves black licorice and it’s been a favorite flavor of mine ever since I can remember. I’ll have to give some to Xena and see if she takes after me.

  3. Ah, finally she got some good candy! 🙂

    1. You’re damn right!

HEY IT’S ALL GOOD CANDY XD

  4. I have never heard of these but I would 100% eat them.

    1. I made up the packaging, but I know they make black licorice in the shape of cats!

  5. I love licorice, so does Husband-Person. (I even love the all black licorice jelly beans that come out at Easter. I may be one of 5 humans on the planet who will eat them.) We also love marzipan, & have discovered the people who hate one, also hate the other. Perhaps it’s a special genetic trait?

    1. Maybe so! My dad loves licorice and I’ve liked it ever since I was a kid. Granted, I favor the sweeter varieties, but still.

I am also one of those 5 humans, btw. I am always SO disappointed when I bite into one and find out it’s actually grape and I mistook that dark, dark, purple for black. I actually hate artificial grape flavor.

      1. Huh, I’ve never encountered a grape jelly bean. How odd.

Warning: If offered licorice from Scandinavia (and I believe The Netherlands), be very careful because they sometime coat the pieces in salt. Apparently it’s a thing. But I almost retched.
