Wha…why are you sleeping with my HUSBAND? Why? I thought I was the only one he graced with his sweaty sleeping body!
Seriously though, why do some people turn into a human shaped sauna the second they hit REM sleep?
You have apparently never noticed that most co-resident guys will make the sacrifice of keeping the sleeping space 20 degrees warmer than they would if they were sleeping alone. If the woman is freezing, the guy is comfortable.
You guys need a scientist here .. nobody sweats if they are kept at the right temperature .. but the temperature is different for different peeps. .. in particular, ladies have a layer of fat that means they need to be kept cooler unless the man has a layer of fat too.
So one person’s duvet is different to someone else’s. There are various ways of dealing with that, we have an electric blanket that is different one side from the other and I believe you can get duvets like that too. If you are into blankets fold one over so one side is more blankety than the other ..

That is my wife, although in her defense, she is currently in the late stages of menopause, and goes from furnace to freezing in about a nanosecond.

Heh, Raf’s the one that complains about being cold in our house, I like it cave-like….which makes this scenario even more astounding to me!

I’m a type II diabetic, and I sweat a lot when I sleep. There’s usually a wet spot on my pillow and on the sheet under my torso. 🙁

I didn’t realize that could be an effect of diabetes. I think my husband just sweats a lot under all the blankets we keep on the bed ^_^;

It’s a defensive layer of slime to keep predators at bay.
