I’m volunteering with the Pasadena Humane Society, and we have this one cat I’m wokring with right now. She can be chill, happy, purring one second, and then BITES OR SWATS YOU. Not hard, it’s just a warning, but they had this big thing going over cat body language and how to tell when a cat is over stimulated, and it’s such a trip seeing her go from 0 to 100 in half a second.
Ugh, right?! I get the overstimulated thing, and I’m sure that’s what’s going on here. Half the time though it happens at night in a dark room and I’m being bitten when I can’t see what she’s doing!
We have a ragdoll cat who only bites when playing… sometimes in thr middle of a nice relaxed stroking session, but APPARENTLY cat behaviourist say they bite in a way to show affection?? Seriously… I think they just like to prove they are jerks… even my puppy cat.
