The same thing happens to me with Ginger Ale bubbles when I’m about to drink it from the cup (as opposed to from a bottle or straw). No other sodas: just Ginger Ale. I have no idea why Ginger Ale bubbles are so inhale-able.

I have learned to either avoid powdered or eat very carefully!
If you lick the powder off first, that doesn’t happen.
And it has the added benefit of “reserving” your donut for later. 🙂
hold your breath when you bite?
I suppose I could try that…Sometimes it happens as I’m chewing though too, and I wouldn’t be able to taste it if I hold my breath the whole time XD
