One would argue (and by one in that sentence I mean Wein and Cockrum creators of Nightcrawler) that a teleporters own survival instincts and will to live would prevent such a ‘fatal miscalculation in teleporting but…Gatekeeper isn’t sending herself and is very tired so…her subconscious wants to rest and has no rested interest in Wendy’s well-being so…might even try to have her make a fatal miscalculation to prevent Wendy from interfering with Gatekeeper’s ability to rest.
But also in the same vein or over analyzing this ficitous concept, Gatekeeper if she made a portal…could no ‘portal’ something into a wall than a doorframe placed on a wall could make someone walk into the middle of the wall. Wendy’s mass would collide with the mass of the obstacle and stop due to basic physics. At worst she might end up in one of those guy falls on a balance beam in a very bad way situations only…well…I will shut up now.
