The kitten just got ‘fixed’ and I thought that might keep her out of the tree, but she hasn’t slowed down one iota…curiously, she’s ignored it completely since it went up. it doesn’t really matter though, her predecessors destroyed everything long ago, blown glass ornaments from the 1920’s and before that belonged to my grandmother, some really nice ones from the 40’s and 50’s and even some heavy ceramic ones my late sister-in-law made that I thought were indestructible…all that’s left are a few wooden ones and the’re well chewed, the rest are from Dollarama and I don’t care if they get broken or not. Putting a barrier around the tree just meant the cats jumped higher and landed harder when they did and it was safer not to put it up after the first few tries :(.
