#1581 Annual PSA

If I can save one person from having to chip ice out of the back end of a turkey....Monday may not be too late if your bird is smaller!

  1. it’s in the igloo cooler in the garage, with the 10 pork butt being cooked on Wednesday ];^)

  2. But read the instructions because some of the pre-stuffed birds need to be cooked frozen.
    Lessons learned the hard way,

    1. I had no idea! I’ve never done a pre-stuffed one before!

  3. We’re somewhat non-traditional; I buy some turkey from a regional BBQ chain, and my wife does a pie and sides. Save dealing with leftovers and dishes.

    1. We do a fairly large friends and family gathering, but it’s pot luck so everyone brings a dish and takes stuff home. There’s always a ton of food, but the leftovers end up being manageable.

  4. We had our Thanksgiving last month and I’m still full 🙂
I gave up doing huge turkey dinners years ago when it was just the two of us, sometimes three and since our youngest moved to the city, only very rarely four and then at xmas. I get a stuffed turkey roll now and canned gravy, but still make potatoes, carrots, turnips and sweet potatoes. It’s not as good, but it’s good enough and a lot less work. I love hot turkey sandwiches and if I cook one of the small rolls anytime of the year I can slice it for sandwiches all week. 🙂

    1. That sounds lovely!

We always provide the turkey since we host every year, but it’s a fairly large gathering so it has to be big one to feed everyone.
