#1454 Chest

Have no fear, everyone, Tabby was very comfortable in the box where we keep the extra blankets for the 12 or so seconds she was in there before she made her "miraculous recovery." We'd never leave her trapped!

Actually, both of the cats would probably love to hang out in the blanket box if we could keep the lid propped open, both of them jump in whenever we're pulling blankets out. It used to stay open, but it's old and the hinges on it slide verrrrrrrry sloooooooowly closed if you leave it open.

  1. Long long ago we had big wooden containers that look like your drawing but long enough to sleep in comfortably. It was a regular occurrence for a cat to sneak into one unnoticed, take a nap, then wake up hours later yowling for release.

    1. Haha, poor babies. This was a toy chest my Grandpa made for me when I was a kid, but now it’s for blankets because I have so many. Your story reminded me of my Mom’s cat who fell asleep on a fold out couch and then got folded up in it. Took my Grandmother about 15 minutes to figure out where his muffled yowls were coming from (he was fine!).

  2. Slowly closed is faaaar better than my old toy box. I feel that that maple lid broke the sound barrier by the time it hit my head. I still flinch whenever I sense a lid closing over my head thanks to it.

…Now I’m wondering if that’s what caused that dent in the back of my head…
