…That just unlocked the memory of this song playing on the jukebox during middle school lunch and some other kid unplugging it. I don’t think it was plugged in at all much longer regardless of how much money it must have made the school.
I used to work in a radio station. A ‘new’ song was popular on the charts at the time, a remake of song that had been a hit twenty years previously. The on-air DJ played the original version for fun and the lines lit up with kids complaining that someone had already done a knockoff of their new favourite song o.O
I always stop dead in my tracks and look up at the ceiling when the muzak in the grocery store plays something form fifty years ago that was apparently chosen at random…like Black Sabbath or some acid rock. You just know that nobody listened to anything before adding it to the tape…or maybe they did…
