I had honestly thought Xena would be "going to preK" in the comics earlier than this, even with Comic Xena being behind IRL Xena it wouldn't have mattered because how much would a pretty universal experience really change in a few years? But because the year she went was the same year as the pandemic lockdowns, I wasn't sure how to handle that in the comics. I feel like our experience of finding a good fit (we did end up going with a small church school, but it was inclusive and play-based), and sending her off for her first real time away from Mommy and Daddy was perfectly average. Until it wasn't. This time in our lives is still really weird for me to revisit and I expect it will remain so.
