I wish my family was like that… the rest of my family only goes to see the dealers room…so they never go to panels, or people watch, or take pictures of people…They don’t know the CON LIFE….
Aw, man! Yeah! There’s so much more to a convention than the Dealers’ Room…Heck, now that the internet makes it so easy to get nerd-stuff, that’s really one of the least important aspects of a convention, for me, anyway (Artist Alley, however, is different!). And I’ve taken to building People Watching into my convention schedule. It’s one of my favorite parts!
Fair…Conventions aren’t for the faint of heart. They’re a lot of waiting, walking, and standing around. Heck, I’m only 30 and I’m totally wiped out after DragonCon.
So, I had a moment of epic proportions this Dragoncon involving you. Last year (2012), my friend and I ran into you at least a dozen-plus times. On Friday, we were talking about how we hadn’t found Pinkie, Derring-Do, and Axe Cop yet, when suddenly, you appear – sans party cannon – but still literally just as the sentence left my mouth. I’ll see if this method of summoning works for Dragoncon 2014.
Oh man, this didn’t happen to be on an escalator, did it? This must have been Friday, since I had the balloons (the cannon was on Saturday this year XD).
Mom said it sounded like someone had said something about the comics, but I’d missed it, if that was you I’m really sorry I didn’t get a chance to stop and chat!
Any plans on coming over to my area of the darkside? We have scrapple 🙂

As in “grind up a pig, put it in a can?”
I’m definitely planning on expanding my convention sphere, but I’m currently limited to pretty local affairs at the moment. Hoping to change that SOON!

Well little plastic tubs but it’s sooo good. Dirty Jobs came to DE and did an episode on how to make scrapple. They were right down the road from my parents and I didn’t know 🙁
While my parents never stopped me from doing things like gaming, cons, or re-enactment while growing up, my mom would occasionlly question I would ask when I would stop with the immature pastime. (she was referring to the SCA at the time). Now she enjoys that I go out be weird since it means I’m being social and being happy

It was right before an escalator actually! Your comics are awesome. Thanks for introducing me to them.
Also, see you and your party cannon next year!

I am determined to make it there one day!

It’s a hoot! The sooner you get tickets, though, the cheaper they are.

It’s always good when they realize those last two things. And, I know SCA isn’t the same thing (by a long shot!) but I used to LARP XD
