I don't remember putting cicadas in the freezer at my parent's house, but it is very on-brand for me. My wonderful mom did, indeed, save them for me and now they are at my house!

Probably when I was in college, honestly, we always have cicadas over the summer where I grew up (but, yeah, the 17 year broods were always MORE).
