You’re an incredibly patient parent. I’d get a licking if I did that to anyone. (Hm, actually, I did. Apparently, when I was barely 3, I jumped into my father’s lap too hard and got spanked. I may not remember the incident, but I never did it again!)
If it had truly hurt or been done out of malice this would have had a different outcome for sure. As it was, I’m still grateful this was a short-lived phase!
