To be fair, dogs are cats’ allies in this particular area…especially when the chasing dog gives the cat an excuse to jump into the tree (unbalancing, knocking off ornaments), and the escaping cat gives the dog an excuse to stand up and put its front paws on the tree (likely knocking the tree over)
Servants. Not guardians. Cats have servants. 🙂
Or really, ANY decor. Mine jumped up on a table and peed on fake flowers that were laying there. I guess it’s my fault for not putting them away. 🤔
I wish I still had all the ornaments the cats have wrecked over the years, some were ones my mother gave me that came from the 50’s and were so pretty, and some my Grandmother had from the 1920’s and others I thought were unbreakable like the heavy ceramic ones my late sister-in-law made for us a lot of years ago. The dollarama ones they ignore completely 🙁
Oh man, I’m so sorry for the loss of your ornaments. My mom still has all of our family heirloom ones (some of which sound very much like yours). I got some ornaments on my trip to Germany that I’ve refused to hang up because I would just be absolutely heartbroken if the cats broke them. I’m bummed that they just have to live in the box for now, but hopefully these two gremlins will calm down eventually!

I guess I should be grateful that they haven’t peed anywhere outside of the litterbox!
