  1. That live webcam is just another elaborate ruse to fool us into thinking zoo animals have babies…

  2. This actually happened some years ago. To Date I have never seen this sloth or its rumored child (on live cam or otherwise).

  3. Hey, it’s a SLOTH. It ain’t goin’ nowhere…. quickly, anyway.

  4. At The National Zoo, I usually only manage to see a sloth’s furry butt wedged up in corner. The critters *I* never saw were the kiwis! They’re totally nocturnal & were kept in darkness. Thank goodness I finally went to a Meet A Kiwi event. Anyhoo, here is recent vid of a National Zoo two-toed sloth (Ivan) having snacks with a Golden Lion Tamarin (Izzy). Beware of the extreme cuteness: https://youtu.be/wW4L1I-h0F4

    1. Aaaaaw! The hypothetical sloths we have also share the enclosure with Golden Lion Tamarins!

  5. I like to spread rumors about the local wildlife.

Like the very rare and elusive ebony-billed woodpeckers that might be hiding in the swamp behind the Frogtown Cafe (a bar).

And the burrowing dwarf pandas that infest the invasive bamboo stands along the local creeks. (We know they live in burrows because we never see them!) 🙂
