Today’s Life On a Stick comic centers around the candy Laffy Taffy.
It was always one of my favorite candies, growing up, not because of the jokes on the wrapper, but because it came in banana-flavored. I think I may be in the minority here, but I’ve always loved the taste of fake banana and will go out of my way to obtain it. It’s a really bizarre flavor that doesn’t ACTually equate with authentic banana and some out makes my mouth feel all warm, the way mint makes it feel cool. It’s hard to explain adequately.
ANYway, for those who may not have known, Laffy Taffy is a (surprise!) taffy that comes individually wrapped up and each wrapper has a couple of jokes printed on it. Kids get to submit these jokes, so you can imagine what the sense of humor is like on them. The worst thing is, even though I know, I KNOW the joke on the wrapper is going to be terrible, I practically can’t eat a piece without first reading and then, usually, groaning.
