Try freezing it for a while, then store it in something semi airtight.
Add a mothball to the container; otherwise a particular kind of mite will eventually eat your bug to powder.

Never thought about mothballs! Good idea! It’s currently been removed from the freezer and it’s sitting in an airtight jar with a bunch of uncooked rice.

Forget mothballs, they taste crap and are toxic too. Big bugs, on the other hand .. 🙂
