I would laugh and poke extreme fun at this girlish sentimentality.
But I can remember all my stuffed animals, and regret every one that went away, even the ones I gave to my kid sister.
yeah…when i moved here, TheEngineer asked me HOW MANY stuffed animals…i said “let me call you back” and had to answer “seventy-five”. i’ve given some to toys for tots since then. and he’s bought me MORE including the 4 foot tall bear from the vermont teddy bear people. 😀
I’ve given a bunch to Goodwill, which isn’t my favorite option, but it seems like just about every other place requires new toys to be donated (like, with the tags still on them.) or I have to wash them myself, which I’m not equipped to do.
If you keep them where you can see them, you will think about them more often. My book shelves have stuffed animals sitting between the books and the edge, and on top. That way they have plenty to read while they’re keeping an eye on me.
