The customers I love are the ones who call and want me to go check a price/see if we have an item. I am NOT your bloody servant. Come into the store and find out for your own damn self. Those calls tend to get put on hold for a while.
What’s wrong with calling somewhere up to see if they have an item? If it’s a common item, the salesperson usually knows the answer off the top of their head and the entire conversation takes 20 seconds, including pleasantries.
I tend to call stores first or look online if they have something in stock because we live in the boonies. I hate driving 15 or 20 minutes into town to discover that they don’t have what I need. I was frustrated today getting gold foil cardstock. Who knew there were different shades of ‘gold’? The one I got is too damn yellow. I’llry again tomorrow & remember my color sample to compare!
Why do people think that remembering they should have been polite after the fact and then grudgingly make a pathetic gesture in that direction has anything like the same effect as being polite in the first place?
