It’s that time of year again, Creatures! The Christmas music is already blaring on the overhead speakers, the lines are already forming (and the people in them already getting agitated), and some Silliness is already rearing it’s ugly head. Like the latest Life On a Stick comic. “No sir, you can still use the escalator; just hop over that barricade, avoid the gaping hole, climb up the stairs and then do the same thing up at the top. It’s EASY!” That’s right, Black Friday is upon us, and it’s only going to get…Sillier from here on out.
In all seriousness, though, my working in the retail industry has thus far, failed to kill my Christmas spirit. So long as I can separate Retail Christmas (rampant consumerism, grouchiness, and rudeness) from Actual Christmas (decorating my house, seeing loved ones, and eating delicious treats), I will be listening to Christmas music in my car from Black Friday til Christmas. But I like to celebrate Thanksgiving first, so not until Friday. Yes.
